Class context

This project explores the relationship designers have with consumers. The brief was to explore the idea of “fun” and design the UI for a product that fulfills this. Through research and synthesis, designers can understand the user’s needs and behaviors. This project emphasizes that understanding the user is crucial to designing a positive user experience.

User research

I conducted 10 interviews, each time asking the question of “When was the last time you had fun?” By enabling contextual storytelling, I was able to learn more about each interviewee’s perspective on fun and later identify their needs and behaviors. The individuals I interviewed were from a variety of backgrounds and varied in age.

With the information, I decided to focus the app on travel. With a new target point, I conducted more interviews to gain insight into why people enjoy traveling.
